The pictures were sized to 4&#8243; x 5&#8243; and printed.  Students drew a 1\/2 inch grid directly on the picture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"504\" height=\"432\" src=\"https:\/\/www.art-rageous.net\/Art-Rageous3\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/KK-Silhouette1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1790\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.art-rageous.net\/Art-Rageous3\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/KK-Silhouette1.jpg 504w, https:\/\/www.art-rageous.net\/Art-Rageous3\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/KK-Silhouette1-300x257.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 504px) 100vw, 504px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>They drew a 1-inch grid on a separate piece of paper, and transferred&#8211;square by square&#8211;the contour line found in each square.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When they had a good contour, they cut out the enlarged image, and placed it FACE DOWN on silhouette paper. (Black construction paper may be used if silhouette paper is not available.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> They traced around the silhouette using a white pencil and then cut it out.
