Using their names and\u00a0&#8220;Shrinky Dinks,&#8221; they were able to create colorful and detailed pendants.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"432\" height=\"165\" src=\"https:\/\/www.art-rageous.net\/Art-Rageous3\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/cartouchependant.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2695\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.art-rageous.net\/Art-Rageous3\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/cartouchependant.jpg 432w, https:\/\/www.art-rageous.net\/Art-Rageous3\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/cartouchependant-300x115.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 432px) 100vw, 432px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>They also completed life-size self-portrait\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.art-rageous.net\/Art-Rageous3\/mummy-cases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mummy cases<\/a>\u00a0(newspaper-stuffed sculptures) which they painted and decorated with Egyptian symbols and hieroglyphics, and &#8220;wrapped up&#8221; this unit by creating\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.art-rageous.net\/Art-Rageous3\/how-to-make-a-mummy-mask\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mummy masks<\/a>\u00a0using plaster gauze-cast images of their faces and &#8220;headdresses.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"432\" height=\"324\" src=\"https:\/\/www.art-rageous.net\/Art-Rageous3\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/EgyptianDisplay.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2696\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.art-rageous.net\/Art-Rageous3\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/EgyptianDisplay.jpg 432w, https:\/\/www.art-rageous.net\/Art-Rageous3\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/EgyptianDisplay-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 432px) 100vw, 432px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Please click on the links above to view the step-by-step lesson plans for these projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After an introduction to Egyptian art and culture through movies, books, and internet images, my 5th and 6th grade students made\u00a0Hieroglyphic cartouche pendants.
