Drawing – White Pencil on Black Paper

Students in my classes worked hard to create good contrast and use the full range of values in their drawings, so it was always interesting to challenge them to switch it up and think “backwards” on a new project. When drawing with a white pencil on black paper, creating a range of values is reversed, but after a few days of practicing how to achieve “backwards” values, they produced some exceptional drawings.
