The painted ceiling of the Sistine Chapel is one of the masterworks of the Renaissance. Students looked at images of the finished work, as well as sketches that Michelangelo made before starting this monumental task. These works--as well as the students' genuine interest in learning to draw people in accurate proportion--led to various drawing exercises and a "finished" project involving the drawing of figures.
