A good portrait begins with a good photograph! Studio portraits are the best to work from, but my clients often provide me with a variety of pictures that they've taken of their children or favorite pets. Clear, sharp-focused snapshots, if the head size of the subject is at least 1-1/2" in height, are usually fine!
While I specialize in portraits of children and pets, I also do portraits of adults. Please click on the images below to see how I create pastel portraits, step by step.

The price for a full-color 16x20 pastel portrait (unframed) of one subject starts at $250. Each additional subject is $150. Prices may be higher for larger portraits and for detailed clothing (such as wedding gowns) or detailed backgrounds. |

Due to my teaching schedule, I work strictly from good quality photographs that are provided by my clients, and I do most of my commissioned work during the summer. I require a 20% non-refundable deposit at the time of commission, and insured shipping of the finished work will be at actual cost. As I near completion of the portrait, I will send you (via email) a digital photograph for your approval. I accept personal checks and PayPal, and will be happy to discuss payment arrangements with you. I strive to keep my work affordable, and I absolutely guarantee that you will love your portrait!
