Monochromatic Paintings

Students worked from black and white photographs to create realistic or abstracted monochromatic paintings during a unit on color theory. They used one color, plus its tints and/or shades, to produce these acrylic paintings.

I submitted a variation of this project to SchoolArts Magazine and I've been notified of their intention to publish it. After the article appears in the magazine (giving SchoolArts first publishing rights), I'll share a related lesson plan, with which my students had a lot of fun and achieved excellent results!
