A Timeline of Art:
Celtic & Gothic Resists

As students explored this part of the Timeline of Art, they could choose to do a Celtic-style design or they could choose to draw a design that featured either a gargoyle or dragon.

They first planned their design, and then drew it on good-quality paper, outlining their pencil lines with black ink.

Next, they traced over it, using a white crayon.

Next came the fun part--putting a watercolor wash over the "invisible" crayon lines and seeing their image magically appear!
