"Mrs. Jane Barrett, widow of the late John Barrett, died Thursday morning at 5 o'clock at the home of her son, Lawrence Barrett, in Tarentum, following a three weeks illness. Mrs. Barrett became ill while visiting at the home of her daughter in Cleveland but was able to be brought to the home of her son 10 days ago.

Mrs. Barrett was a native of Madison township, having been born there March 28, 1852. Last Sunday she celebrated her 85th birthday anniversary. That same day her third great-grandchild was born. Her husband preceded her in death 27 years ago. She is survived by the following children: Orris Barrett, Freeport; Mrs. Lulu McKinley, Los Angeles, Cal.; David J. Barrett, Templeton; Mrs. Lillian Ude, Cleveland, Ohio; Lawrence Barrett, Mrs. Elizabeth Walker and Robert Barrett of Tarentum. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren and three sisters: Mrs. Millie Williams and Mrs. Orie Reese of Kellersburg and Mrs. Nancy Myers, Sarasota, Fla.

Funeral services will be held from the home of her son Lawrence in Tarentum Saturday, at noon. The funeral cortege will then proceed to the Narrows cemetery midway between Distant and Kellersburg where it is expected to arrive about 2 o'clock."

"Funeral services for Mrs. Jane Barrett, who died at the home of her son in Tarentum early Thursday morning, were held at that place Saturday morning at 11 o'clock and were in charge of Rev. C. J. Whitlach of the Methodist church. The funeral cortege then proceeded to the Narrows cemetery between Distant and Kellersburg, where committal services in charge of Rev. Walter Kennedy of Templeton, were held.

There were many beautiful floral tributes. Six grandsons, Kenneth L. Barrett, Williard Barrett, Lee Barrett, Leonard Barrett, Kenneth Barrett and Clarence Barrett, bore the body of their grandmother to its resting place."
